Recensione della serie tv “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” /Review of tv series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” è una serie televisiva prodotta dalla Marvel (il titolo originale infatti è Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), creata da Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon e Maurissa Tancharoen, e andata in onda sulla ABC dal 2013 al 2020 (conclusa). In Italia è andata in onda sui canali Fox (Sky), sulla RAI e ora è disponibile parzialmente su Netflix.

La trama è basata sulle avventure dell’organizzazione dello S.H.I.E.L.D. (acronimo di Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, in italiano Divisione strategica nazionale d’intervento, applicazione e logistica), che i fan Marvel hanno avuto modo di conoscere in Iron Man, Thor, Capitan America e The Avengers. In particolare, la serie è stata creata proprio dopo il successo di quest’ultimo film: nella pellicola, l’agente Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) veniva assassinato, ma il personaggio era già troppo amato, così nella serie si scopre che era sopravvissuto e diviene il protagonista. L’uomo viene incaricato di creare una task force formata da Melinda May (Ming-Na Wan), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), la coppia di scienziati Fitz-Simmons (Iain De Caestecker ed Elizabeth Henstridge) per investigare casi soprannaturali/alieni; dopo poco si unisce a loro la hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

La serie televisiva ha avuto sette stagioni, una più adrenalinica dell’altra: nella prima l’aspetto dell’organizzazione dello S.H.I.E.L.D. e dei singoli casi è preponderante, mentre dalla seconda l’aspetto fantascientifico e di superpoteri diventa più marcato.

Devo dire che si è trattata di una delle mie serie preferite, che ho amato molto nonostante alcuni alti e bassi (personalmente non ho apprezzato troppo la seconda stagione per le storyline di due personaggi che non sopportavo); il ritmo è sempre altissimo, la regia in perfetto stile Marvel.

Uno degli aspetti che ho apprezzato maggiormente, nonostante le mille citazioni al Marvel Cinematic Universe, è sicuramente quello della caratterizzazione dei personaggi e del rapporto tra loro. Phil Coulson, che già adoravo nei film, qui è un protagonista meraviglioso, intenso, affascinante e profondo, ma anche i suoi compagni entrano subito nel cuore, in particolare May.

Non voglio fare spoiler, ma credo che la prima stagione abbia uno dei migliori colpi di scena di tutte le serie tv che ho visto finora.

In conclusione, una serie imprescindibile per i fan della Marvel, ma anche per gli appassionati del scifi-action. Assolutamente consigliata.

The plot is based on the adventures of the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization (acronym for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division), which Marvel fans got to know in Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers. In particular, the series was created right after the success of the latter film: in the film, agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) was assassinated, but the character was already too much loved, so in the series it turns out that he survived and becomes the protagonist. The man is commissioned to create a task force formed by Melinda May (Ming-Na Wan), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), the couple of scientists Fitz-Simmons (Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge) to investigate supernatural/alien cases; after a while the hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet) joins them.

The television series has had seven seasons, one more adrenalinic than the other: in the first one the aspect of the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization and of the single cases is preponderant, while from the second one the science fiction and superpowers aspect become more marked.

I must say that it was one of my favorite series, which I loved a lot despite some ups and downs (personally I didn’t appreciate too much the second season for the storylines of two characters I couldn’t stand); the rhythm is always very high, the direction in perfect Marvel style.

One of the aspects that I appreciated the most, despite the thousand quotations to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is the characterization of the characters and the relationship between them. Phil Coulson, who I already adored in the movies, here is a wonderful, intense, fascinating and profound protagonist, but also his companions immediately enter the heart, especially May.

I don’t want to spoiler, but I think the first season has one of the best twists of all the TV series I’ve seen so far.

In conclusion, an essential series for Marvel fans, but also for scifi-action fans. Absolutely recommended.
