“Rebel Moon”, diretto da Zack Snyder, è un film di fantascienza uscito nel 2023 e disponibile su Netflix.

La trama di “Rebel Moon” ruota attorno a Kora (Sofia Boutella), ex ufficiale del potente Mondo Madre, che riunisce un gruppo di ribelli per combattere un regime tirannico che vuole affamare la piccola colonia agricola dove si è trasferita. Il film segue la loro lotta per la libertà, affrontando sfide mortali e rivelazioni “sorprendenti” lungo il cammino.

“Rebel Moon” era originariamente concepito come una storia nell’universo di Star Wars. Questo si riflette chiaramente nel Mondo Madre del film, che presenta forti somiglianze con l’Impero nella saga di Star Wars. Inoltre, i personaggi principali sembrano richiamare il trio del primo film di Star Wars, con alcune prevedibili sorprese nel corso della trama. Anche i pianeti su cui viaggiano ricalcano quelli di Star Wars (uno è palesemente Tatooine), così come le varie “razze” aliene che si incontrano. Insomma, è una fanfiction a tutti gli effetti.

Possiamo solo ringraziare il destino per la decisione della Disney di realizzare “Rogue One” anziché “Rebel Moon”. Mentre “Rebel Moon” potrebbe attrarre i fan di Star Wars, il film di Snyder presenta alcune caratteristiche tipiche del regista.

Come molti film di Zack Snyder, “Rebel Moon” presenta tematiche violente, incluse scene che toccano temi delicati come lo stupro, senza alcun tatto o sensibilità. Inoltre, alcune scene d’azione sono eccessivamente lunghe e poco necessarie per la progressione della trama. La caratterizzazione dei personaggi risulta superficiale, presentata in modo frettoloso, e manca di profondità e sviluppo. Inoltre, il film manca completamente di qualsivoglia momento ironico o di leggerezza.

È inoltre rilevante sottolineare che “Rebel Moon” contiene una scena identica a quella di Harry che vola su Fierobecco in “Harry Potter e il Prigioniero di Azkaban”. Questa scena era già insignificante e non aggiungeva nulla alla trama allora, figuriamoci adesso.

In conclusione, “Rebel Moon” di Zack Snyder è un film che potrebbe interessare ai fan di Star Wars che cercano un film accuratamente privo di sorprese ed epurato da ogni momento divertente.

Furthermore, the main characters seem to recall the trio from the first Star Wars film, with some predictable surprises in the course of the plot. Even the planets on which they travel trace those of Star Wars (one is blatantly Tatooine), as do the various alien ‘races’ they encounter. In short, it’s fanfiction.

We can only thank fate for Disney’s decision to make “Rogue One” instead of “Rebel Moon”. While ‘Rebel Moon’ might appeal to Star Wars fans, Snyder’s film has some of the director’s typical characteristics.

Like many of Zack Snyder’s films, ‘Rebel Moon’ features violent themes, including scenes that touch on sensitive issues, such as rape, without any tact or sensitivity. In addition, some action scenes are excessively long and unnecessary for plot progression. Characterisation of the characters is superficial, hastily presented, and lacks depth and development. Moreover, the film completely lacks any ironic or light-hearted moments.

It is also relevant to note that ‘Rebel Moon’ contains a scene identical to that of Harry flying on Buckbeak in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’. This scene was already insignificant and added nothing to the plot then, let alone now.

In conclusion, Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’ is a film that might appeal to Star Wars fans looking for a film carefully devoid of surprises and purged of any funny moments.
